Overview
The Insight Academy is an advisory and capability-building program and consists of two programs:
The first program (start-up/spin-off support program) helps scientific organisations’ early-stage start-ups and spin-offs relevant to contemporary agrifood and health systems by offering support services such as scale-up and consultancy, e.g. access to project funding opportunities, product development, etc.
The second program (Insight Academy) offers to scientific organisations' academic and non-academic staff interested in spinning off innovative companies insights into the complexity of food and health systems, state-of-the-art technologies and innovations, actual needs of industries and customers/patients, sectorial regulations, and funding and capital market for innovative start-ups by professionals working in the field of food and health innovations from industry, academia and European institutions.
Participants will gain insights into emerging food and health technologies and research trends, becoming equipped with the knowledge needed to contribute and better develop their innovation ecosystems by creating and operating more sustainable and competitive start-up and spin-off companies related to food and health sectors.
Key features
Up to16 hours of mentoring/consultancy sessions and follow-up activities by experts from the TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (TÜBİTAK MAM), providing their expertise and experience in R&D, scale-up and mentoring of start-up/spin-off relevant to the contemporary agrifood and health systems.
All mentoring/consultancy sessions are delivered online via video conferencing platforms.
Training based on highly interactive learning methods allows participants to understand the sector needs and relevant demands of their players.

Beneficiaries
The Insight Academy:
Is focused on supporting early-stage academic start-ups/spin-off companies.
The start-up/spin-off company must have at least one co-founder working at scientific organisations (universities or research institutes).
Participants must fall under one of the EIT Food innovation focus areas (link) or be related to innovation in the health sector, e.g. such as dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, food safety.
The Insight Academy is open to all players from RIS countries (link):
Priority will be given to academic and non-academic staff participating involved in the management and commercialisation of research infrastructure, of: the University of Warsaw (Poland), Lodz University of Technology (Poland), Universidad Loyola (Spain), Marmara University (Turkey), PerrotisCollege (Greece), University of Kyiv (Ukraine), Medical University of Lodz (Poland), the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland) and the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (Slovakia).
Program Delivery
The Insight Academy’s start-up/spin-off support program will start on the 21st of June and last for a minimum of two months.
All mentoring/consultancy sessions are held online using video conferencing platforms.
